Weekly Updates Nov 15

Hello Parents,

This week we continued our exploration of bears. We were able to do an experiment with frozen berries. We invited students to test their five senses and asked them to think from a bear’s perspective. Is it easy to smell or taste frozen food? How hard might it be to find food in the winter? Why do you think bears hibernate in the winter?

A second hands-on exploration guided us to compare our hands and foot prints to bears. The students were using language such as: longer than, wider than, bigger or smaller. This activity is perfectly aligned with the math curriculum in Kindergarten. And our students demonstrated very good understanding of this learning outcome.

I look forward to seeing you during the parent-teacher conferences next Thursday and Friday.

Have a great weekend
Ms. Dilov
